24 and 27 April 2020 – The Global Arbitration Review (GAR) reported on the Firm’s victory for a Finnish investor, Mr Mohamed Bahgat, in his investment arbitration against Egypt in respect of the expropriation of the Aswan Iron & Steel Project. Fietta LLP secured an award in excess of $115 million (including costs) for Mr Bahgat in the case. GAR subsequently reported on the Dutch bailiff’s seizure of the former residence of the Egyptian ambassador in The Hague as a first step in Mr Bahgat’s enforcement of the award.
